Who You’ll Work With:

The Private Alternatives Capital Formation team is responsible for leading the continued growth and expansion of AB’s platform of Private Alternatives products and services on a global basis. We work in close partnership with a variety of groups across AB, including Investments, Sales and Marketing, Product Development, Legal/Compliance, etc., to commercialize existing Private Alternatives products and services and spearhead the creation of new Private Alternatives products and services, with an emphasis on direct lending (corporate, real estate) and opportunistic credit strategies.

We are in search of a Managing Director whose primary role is to drive continued growth of the Private Alternatives platform in the EMEA and APAC institutional and wealth channels, with main initial focus on continued growth of AB Private Credit Investors (“AB-PCI”) – AB’s corporate direct lending business; and AB’s US and European Commercial Real Estate Debt businesses (“US CRED” and “ECRED”). In this role, you will have responsibility for accelerating the sales pipeline for those strategic AB businesses, including increasing consultant advocacy for them as relevant. This will require a close working relationship with the AB-PCI, US CRED, and ECRED management teams and Private Alternatives Business Development team, and extensive collaboration with the AllianceBernstein sales and consultant relations organizations throughout EMEA and APAC.

In this role, you will foster relationships with investors through a variety of means, including active partnership with AB sales professionals in a product specialist capacity and direct meetings and calls.

You will report to the Global Head of Private Alternatives Capital Formation, in AB’s Nashville office.

What You’ll Do:

  • Support the growth of AB’s Private Alternatives platform in EMEA and APAC, working collaboratively as part of AB’s Private Alternatives Capital Formation team.

  • Take primary responsibility for driving the growth of AB-PCI, US CRED, and ECRED in EMEA and APAC, leveraging existing relationships to accelerate sales pipeline while also partnering with AB sales professionals to identify, pursue, and close new investor and consultant relationships.
  • Work closely with Business Development and Sales leadership to develop, execute, and refine marketing plans to ensure systematic coverage of the regions for AB-PCI, US CRED, and ECRED, with clear prioritization of opportunities. Establish and maintain an aggregated sales pipeline for all active AB-PCI, US CRED, and ECRED fund raises and new product/strategy launches in EMEA and APAC.
  • Collaborate extensively with AB sales professionals to promote AB-PCI, US CRED, and ECRED to prospective investors and consultants.  Develop go-to-market plans, support prospect outreach, attend meetings in product specialist capacity and actively assist on required follow-up.
  • Manage and lead meetings for potential AB-PCI, US CRED, and ECRED investors.  Coordinate any meeting follow-up required.
  • Advise key stakeholders on market conditions and competitive intelligence across EMEA and APAC, as it relates to fundraising for corporate direct lending strategies and real estate lending strategies.
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of the AB-PCI, US CRED and ECRED strategies and key positions/themes in their portfolios and the markets in which they invest.
  • Actively support the build out of AB’s broader Private Alternatives platform in EMEA and APAC by maintaining an appropriately detailed knowledge of all strategies across the platform, notably the AB CarVal platform.  Refer opportunities for other Private Alternatives strategies to relevant Business Development and Sales stakeholders.

What We Look For:

  • An undergraduate degree.

  • 10+ years of industry experience with knowledge of practices and standards of private markets.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience selling corporate direct lending strategies and/or real estate debt strategies to EMEA and/or APAC investors.
  • Detailed knowledge of global credit markets (public and private).
  • Detailed knowledge of institutional investors and leading wealth platforms in EMEA and APAC, particularly investors active in private credit investments, including demonstrated experience building and maintaining long-term business relationships as well as understanding needs and preferences.
  • The ability  to work independently and in teams.
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and effectively and to meet challenging deadlines.
